萬(wàn)石山,，是廈門(mén)市城區(qū)的一座風(fēng)光秀美的山，在萬(wàn)石山中,，有著著名的廈門(mén)萬(wàn)石植物園,，始建于1960年。植物園的一個(gè)特點(diǎn)是：它40多年來(lái)有規(guī)模地引種非洲,、美洲,、澳洲和東南亞諸國(guó)的熱帶、亞熱帶植物5000多種,，建成20多個(gè)專(zhuān)類(lèi)園區(qū),，享有“植物王國(guó)”或“植物博物館”的美譽(yù)。另一個(gè)特點(diǎn)是：植物園也是廈門(mén)城區(qū)的一片肺葉,不懈地改善城區(qū)的生態(tài)環(huán)境,為城市綠化服務(wù),。植物的觀賞和實(shí)用價(jià)值深深的吸引著我,。

我最喜歡的是植物園中的萬(wàn)石湖，圍繞萬(wàn)石湖有松杉園,、棕櫚島,、百花廳、和南洋杉廣場(chǎng)等眾多游覽點(diǎn),，匯聚著許多熱帶,、亞熱帶的珍稀植物品種,。諸如市樹(shù)鳳凰木、市花三角梅,，唐僧西天取經(jīng)路上曾喝過(guò)蕉葉水的旅人蕉,。更有數(shù)不盡的竹子、蘇鐵和名稱(chēng)奇特的異國(guó)花木,，把萬(wàn)石山裝點(diǎn)得蒼翠欲滴,，滿(mǎn)坡皆綠，潛行其間,，宛如進(jìn)入原始森林!這里尤為珍貴的是1984年鄧小平同志視察廈門(mén)時(shí)親手種下的千年香樟,，現(xiàn)正郁盛繁茂，已長(zhǎng)成參天大樹(shù)了!

植物園中另一個(gè)引人注目的就是多肉植物園圃,。它為巨型透明螺殼,，有盆栽仙人掌、仙人柱,、仙人球,、仙人鞭等。其中仙人柱高達(dá) 3米,，算是全國(guó)罕見(jiàn)的一種,。據(jù)說(shuō)，廈門(mén)仙人掌科植物有500多種,，名列全國(guó)第一。
